Shock absorbers in vehicle

Tires may be the only part of a vehicle that physically meets the road, but your shock absorbers are next in line. Working with the suspension springs, they absorb shocks from bumps and cracks in the road, while simultaneously controlling bounce and body roll.

Automatic transmissions are the default now - with efficiency approaching or surpassing that of manual transmissions, and automatics with 8 or 10 electronically controlled gears, it’s no surprise they’ve gained so much popularity over the past few decades. But where did it all start? Kevin's Auto Repair in Huntsville, AL has the answers.

Kevin's Auto Repair is the best and I trust them with all my repairs!
Customer Review
★★★★★
I went to a major franchise to have new tires put on my vehicle and they advised me that my rack & pinion steering was leaking. I allowed them to make the repairs. After getting my car back and driving for a week, I experienced strange issues with my car. I would be on a 360 degree exit and the skid light would come on. The car would also start braking or stop accelerating. I called the major franchise and they told me to take the car to the dealer and they did not want to look at it again. Around the corner from this franchise, I found Kevin's Automotive Repair and left my car with them. I informed Kevin of the previous maintenance performed. Kevin came back and said that one bolt from the rack & pinion steering and the bold was about to come out and the other nut was loose from the bolt. I owed over $5000 on this car and major damage would have caused undue hardship on my family. All I want in a mechanic, carpenter, electrician, etc., is honest and loyalty to it's customers. This is what I have found with Kevin and I trust him with all my maintenance!

For all the new drivers on the road, young and old, Kevin's Auto Repair in Huntsville, AL would like to welcome you to the automotive community. Here are a few wise words to live by, to make your entrance into the driving world go as smoothly as possible.

exhaust

Exhaust systems are one of the most neglected aspects of most vehicles. Exhaust pipes, catalytic converters, and mufflers are exposed to heat, emissions, and road damage. While your exhaust system is fairly simple and straightforward, these conditions mean it is inherently prone to rust and damage. As a result, this system is often one of the first systems you will have trouble with on your car.

transmission

Transmissions are complex, and over time they will wear out and eventually break. Knowing what to look for will play a key role in preventing your transmission from failing prematurely. At Kevin's Auto Repair in Huntsville, AL we want to give you some insight on how your transmission works and how it can fail.

jumper cables being placed on a battery

At some point or another, it’ll happen to you. You leave your headlights on, your battery finally fails, or for some other reason, you don’t have enough juice to start your car. Don’t call a tow truck just yet, though...Kevin's Auto Repair in Huntsville has the info you need to properly jump start your car.

Your Chevy, Ram or Ford pickup is equipped with an Electronic Control Unit, or ECU, that acts as the “brain” of your diesel truck. At Kevin's Auto Repair in Huntsville, AL, we have the technology, technicians, and equipment necessary to reprogram and service even the most sophisticated electronic controls.
