These guys are awesome! I have been hunting for a good mechanic in this area. I read several posts on Facebook that had tons of people recommending Kevin's so I decided to give them a shot. Upon entering their very clean waiting room, I was quickly greeted by a friendly lady who checked me in. I worked for a while in the waiting room while they assessed my car (they had a desk in the waiting room which was awesome!). The gentleman (I think it was Kevin?) who came to tell me what was wrong with my car was friendly and explained things where I could understand without being condescending. They had my car fixed faster than the estimate and for cheaper than I was expecting. They just did an oil changed and fixed my brakes, but I swear my car is running better somehow. I'm not sure what they did, but it's accelerating easier and idling more quietly. While I was waiting, I could overhear them talking in their office area. You can tell this group has a family atmosphere. It felt like being back in the small town mechanic shop where I grew up. I will most definitely be back and will tell everyone I know to go there as well!

A good technician will give your vehicle a quick inspection whenever you have maintenance performed. Fluid levels, tire condition, dashboard lights, and a variety of other items typically are briefly explored whenever you bring your vehicle in for maintenance. At Kevin's Auto Repair in Huntsville, AL, we're good at noticing things that need repair, but the fact of the matter is that only you know your vehicle. You know when your vehicle feels off when its been serviced last (or that it hasn't been serviced at all,) and have at least some vague idea of what’s going on with your vehicle day to day. Here are some questions you can ask us next time you come by the shop:
Part of maintaining your vehicle is keeping its safety devices in good working order, especially when there are kids in the vehicle. Seat belts, window locks, and airbag sensors work together to keep children safe in an automobile. Though safety components are generally very reliable, they do occasionally fail. Kevin's Auto Repair in Huntsville, AL is here when they do; here are some things to watch out for.
If you’re ever in a situation where you must remove the battery from your vehicle, it’s important to know what you’re doing. It seems pretty straight forward, and it is. However, there are some important things to remember when disconnecting the battery in your car, truck, or SUV. Here are some tips on disconnecting a car battery, from Kevin's Auto Repair in Huntsville, AL.
Your vehicle's radio and headlights, plus a slew of other important functions, are powered by an electrical current generated by your vehicle’s engine. A vital part of generating electricity is having a place to store it while it’s not being used, which is where a car battery comes into play. The battery holds electrical energy while a car is off in order to help the engine turn over and create a spark to start internal combustion. Without a working battery, your car will not be able to start. If you perform proper maintenance, however, an average car battery can start your car reliably for roughly four years.
In today's economic climate, people are working hard to make their dollars go further. Not only are drivers holding onto their vehicles longer, but they're also looking to improve fuel efficiency to get the most gas mileage out of every gallon of gas. You can do both by following a few simple tips from our team here at Kevin's Auto Repair!
